Laurel ~ Owner, Trainer, Stylist
Laurie ~ Stylist
Sherissa ~ Stylist
Growing up in the country, Sherissa has always been an animal lover. Her parents being Akita breeders, she was around a lot of dogs, and knew she would eventually persue a career in animal care/behavior field. Sherissa began this career a year and a half ago as a bather in a local shop and made her way up to a finishing groomer with the training of Laurel. She is now working to certification and becoming a Master Groomer. She plans to enter in to grooming competitions in the near future and is very excited to bring her skills to their highest potential. She has also began assisting in our Petzercise classes with Laurel, and Mooky, her pug/shitzu, with the hopes of eventually teaching classes on her own and becoming a trainer. Sherissa is proud to be a part of the Pawsh Dog Team and looks forward to helping with your dog’s needs
Cailynn ~ Prep Groomer
Jenelle ~ Prep Groomer
Growing up with fish, hamster, guinea pig, a Chihuahua cross and a cat named Tiger, Jenelle has always loved animals and learned to take responsibility early on in life. After her family was left with just a cat she begged my parents for another dog, and on her 14th birthday she was given Meeka, her pomeranian/papillion. Enrolling her in obedience she became the perfect fit for the family. Jenelle has been working for the Pawsh Dog Team from day one and loves learning everything (or so it seems!) about dogs!
My obsession with animal behavior started at about age 7. My family took me to SeaWorld in Florida where I was fascinated by the tricks that the dolphins performed and swore that when I grew up I was going to be a dolphin trainer. Of course as a grade school aged child in Winnipeg, my dolphin training career didn't take off.
At 11, after saving up my allowance for months, and with a lot of help from my family, I purchased my first dog. She was a keeshond, and I named her Tessa. We attended a puppy socialization class with Suzanne and Louie Carriere, and went on to basic obedience. From there, we started to compete in obedience trials. Our breeder suggested that we try showing Tess, and introduced us to Pat Law and the Manitoba Junior Kennel Club.
The rest was history. Since then, I have had the opportunity to train with many great trainers and handlers. I have travelled through Canada and the States attending countless dog shows and winning many awards. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Zoology, as well as an accounting major. Today, I am most active on the dog show scene acting as agent to many of Canada's top show dogs. I am also working my australian shepherd "Josh" in obedience and agility.
